We spent most of a week camping 50 yards from the Pacific coast, just north of San Diego. The beach was beautiful, the sunsets fantastic, the sound of the waves and seagulls filled the air.
We were also 50 feet from a busy road, and were surrounded by people everywhere we went.
The kids are discovering that everything is a trade-off. We love isolated campsites and quiet hiking trails, but that often comes with no internet and lots of driving to see things.
The beach campsite was close to so many things.
Only the oldest kids remember the ocean, and that was the cold north Atlantic along the New Hampshire coast. They all loved playing in the sand and feeling the waves push them towards the shore.
We kept busy while there, but I'll save those expeditions for another post!
I am loving hearing about your adventures, experiences, and family time! Many blessings on the rest of your travels! ~Elissa
