We spent a warm, relaxing week camping by the Salton Sea in the California Coachella valley.
The scenery was beautiful, and the campground was clean and quiet. The Salton Sea has its problems, though. Too much salt, agricultural run-off, and shores made up of fish and barnacle bones.
We couldn't enjoy the water, but we did manage to snag the best campsite in the park. Choosing a site from the limited information online is a bit of a gamble. But this one was great.
We made several trips to the nearby towns for laundry and groceries.
There was a train track that ran close by the campground. T loved it, and announced every train.
We had our first movie night on the road: RANGO! We had just visited the Mojave desert, so it seemed appropriate.
It was a great week of dinners by the fire, relaxing, and hiking at the nearby canyons and Joshua Tree National Park.
I love reading about your explorations. The adventure of all of it ... amazing! Please keep posting. Praying for continued safety.
